This meeting aims to promote exchanges between the communities of physicists and chemists interested in the topic of the magnetic or electronic properties of materials. Functional materials are involved in the development of devices that are increasingly multifunctional or adaptive, interacting with external stimuli. The miniaturization of these devices leads to design these materials on the scale of the molecule or in nano-structured form. Once the small dimensions are reached, understanding the properties of such structures requires considering quantum and dynamical approaches at variable time scales. This meeting will include introductory presentations linking the approaches used by the two communities and more specific presentations on examples of materials or devices.
